Gibson Faded SG Special Electric Guitar Worn Cherry

Gibson Faded SG Special Electric Guitar Worn Cherry

The Gibson Faded SG Special is an electric guitar that maintains the tradition of looks, functionality, and value for which the SG guitar is known. Under its attractive faded finish, the Faded Special SG is still the traditional SG, with mahogany body and neck, Tune-O-Matic/stopbar bridge, and alnico 490 pickups. The guitar's faded finish gives it the look of an electric that started its rockin' days in the '60s. A Little SG History In 1961, the Les Paul was redesigned with a thinner body and 2 sharp cutaway horns that made the upper frets more accessible while lowering production costs. The new guitar was popular, but Les Paul the guitarist behind the original Les Paul did not like it and asked to have his name removed. Gibson renamed the model the "SG" which was short for "solid guitar". Though Les Paul's name was officially removed from the model in 1961, the plastic Les Paul nameplates (positioned between the rhythm pickup and fingerboard) were in abundance in the Gibson factory and SG models having these nameplates were built and sold by Gibson up to the end of 1963. SGs have been the choice of world-class artists such as Pete Townsend, Eric Clapton, Tony Iommi, and Angus Young.

The result was this radical new, highly carved design-the Solid Guitar, shortened to SG. BurstBucker humbuckers supply historically-accurate "Patent Applied For" tone. With a solid mahogany body and neck,ABR1 bridge and vintage tulip tuners, this is the real McCoy.

Gibson Custom 50th Anniversary 1958 Korina Explorer Electric Guitar ¹

Fifty years ago, Gibson debuted a new series of guitars — referred to in the 1958 catalog as the Modernistic series. Designed by Ted McCarty, they were far enough ahead of their time that the originals languished until a later generation of players enthusiastically adopted them. Fewer than 50 original Explorer guitars were shipped during 1958, making them among the most collectible guitars ever. This special 50th Anniversary 1958 Korina Explorer Electric Guitar, featuring a one-piece korina body and neck is limited to a run of 100 guitars.A solid korina body and stopbar bridge are the primary elements of tone and sustain for this awesome axe, which you can wield handily thanks to the Gibson Explorer Guitar's player-friendly setup. A 19th fret neck joint means you can shred all the way to the highest notes on a rosewood fretboard. A tune-o-matic bridge and mini Grover tuners keep your strings spot on in tune even when you're bending the night away. All this sound is superbly telegraphed to your amp by two ceramic magnet humbuckers.

Gibson Custom Custom Robby Krieger 1967 SG VOS Electric Guitar Aged Dark Heritage Cherry

Gibson Custom Custom Robby Krieger 1967 SG VOS Electric Guitar Aged Dark Heritage Cherry

The Robby Krieger 1967 SG VOS (Vintage Original Specs) Electric Guitar from Gibson Custom blends several features from some of Krieger's favorite SG's into one stunning new model. Made of traditional solid mahogany, the body of the Krieger SG is typical of the thin SG bodies from the mid 1960s, complete with traditional beveled edges and the distinct dual sharp cutaway horns that give players complete access to the guitar's full 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. The body is then finished in Krieger's personal favorite Aged Dark Heritage Cherry finish, which is very similar to the finish of his beloved 1967 SG Standard, and historically accurate right down to the tiniest scratches, dings and belt rash. The neck is also a typical SG one-piece mahogany neck, but with a hybrid neck profile modeled after the neck on a 1961 Gibson SG owned by a close friend and the neck on his personal '67 SG Standard. In order to duplicate his signature sound Krieger chose a pair of Gibson's renowned '57 Classic humbucker pickups. Gibson's original "Patent Applied For" humbuckers of the mid- to late-1950s &mdash: some of the most sought after pickups in the world &mdash: were wound using imprecise machines, resulting in pickups with slightly different output and tone, and desirable to players who wanted to mix and match and explore a complete spectrum of tonal possibilities. The '57 Classic pickups are the result of Gibson's drive to capture and recreate this renowned characteristic. Krieger's signature sound comes through clearly in a warm, full tone with a balanced response, packing all the tremendous "PAF" humbucker crunch expected from a Gibson humbucker. Everything else on the new Inspired By Krieger SG is classic Gibson SG Standard, including the ABR-1 Bridge and Maestro tailpiece tremolo system, nickel hardware, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with figured acrylic trapezoid inlays, and vintage tulip tuners. The new Inspired By Robby Krieger SG Standard is destined to become of the most popular SGs ever produced by Gibson Custom, Gibson VOS guitars receive a nitrocellulose lacquer finish like many other Gibson Custom Shop and Gibson USA guitars, but the process on the VOS models has been revised to reflect the way Gibson finished these guitars back in the day. They receive a thinner lacquer finish, which is applied, sanded, and buffed differently— which is to say, more accurately. This not only gives the instruments a look more like a gently aged and well-cared-for vintage guitar, but helps the guitars "breathe," and therefore to resonate more freely. The Robby Krieger 1967 SG VOS will only be produced in a very limited run of 100 with Gibson Custom's V.O.S. finish treatment. Each guitar will come with its own Gibson Custom case and a certificate of authenticity signed personally by Krieger.

King is linked to his beloved Lucille – a custom-built Gibson ES-355 manufactured exclusively for the true "King of the Blues" since 1980. And B.B. King is not only the most renowned blues musician of our time; he's also one of the most important electric guitarists of all-time. His singular bluesy style has influenced generations of players across genres, and his powerful and distinct songs have appeared on the charts more than 70 times, from blues to R&B to pop. B.B. King Lucille Gem Series electric guitars are a limited release of BB King's iconic "Lucille" finished in dazzling colors. Today's B.B. King Lucille from the Gibson Custom Shop is made to exactly the same specifications as the guitar played by King himself. The most outstanding qualities that make this instrument his own include a body with no f-holes and a fine-tuner tailpiece. The body consists of plain laminated maple top, back, and rims, with multi-ply binding on both the top and back. The neck is a three-piece maple neck with Gibson's traditional rounded profile, a scale length of 24¾-inches, and a 22-fret ebony fingerboard that is outlined with single-ply binding and adorned with genuine pearl block inlays. The Gibson Lucille is loaded with dual 490 humbucking pickups that feature alnico magnets for a classic tone that is well balanced, smooth, and warm. The 6-position Varitone switch circuitry adds capacitors of different value to the circuit. The capacitors act as a notch filter, so each position on the switch notches out mid-range frequencies, thinning out the sound. You'll get a surprising range of great tones that will let you cover any musical turf. Stereo wiring provides both stereo and mono connections, with two output jacks on the lower bout. Other standard appointments include all gold hardware, metal tulip tuners, a Nashville Tune-o-matic bridge and TP-6 fine tuning tailpiece. As is customary with the ES-355 there are two volume, two tone knobs, and a three-way selector switch, Vari-tone switch, and both stereo and mono jacks. The B.B. King Lucille comes a Gibson Custom hardshell case and certificate of authenticity. Each certificate is printed in white, with artwork in the color that matches the guitar. This is a first for Custom and Memphis. The cover of the certificate holds "BB King" and an image of his crown logo, inside lists the serial number, and a facsimile of BB King's signature. King Treasures: Photos, Mementos & Music from B.B. King's Collection that tells the story of King's life and includes an hour-long CD of conversation with the bluesmaster also playing musical examples on his very own Lucille. The book

Gibson SG Zoot Suit Electric Guitar Black and Red

Gibson SG Zoot Suit Electric Guitar Black and Red

The word zoot is jazz slang meaning extravagant style—certainly an apt description for the Gibson USA SG Zoot Suit electric guitar. The radical design starts with a body built with multiple birch wood laminate pieces (each one approximately .075" thick), each dyed with a different color then compressed and bonded together to form one solid block of wood. No paint is used. Each body is given two coats of satin nitrocellulose lacquer. The average weight of a Zoot Suit body is 5.7 lb., which is slightly heavier than normal but actually creates more balance, a solid feel, and brighter tones that prove compatible with the pickup configuration.Maximum sustain The Gibson SG guitar's solid body yields maximum sustain and enhanced resonance. Gibson's traditional rounded profile is hand-carved into the neck, delivering a comfortable, super-fast feel to one of the quickest necks in the industry. The headstock is carefully angled at 17 degrees, which increases pressure on the strings and helps them stay in the nut slots. An increase in string pressure also means there is no loss of string vibration between the nut and the tuners, which equals better sustain.Ceramic humbuckers The Zoot SG is loaded with Gibson's eminent 496R Hot Ceramic and 500T Super Ceramic humbucking pickups, which feature clear coil forms and mounting rings to display the copper wire and ceramic magnets. The magnets in both the 496R and 500T pickups are Ceramic Five magnets manufactured at just the right temperature to ensure high intrinsic coercive force. The 496R produces incredible sustain and cutting power, adding more highs with increased definition and no muddiness at all. The 500T is one of Gibson's most powerful pickups, and contains a three ceramic magnet structure, which enables a no-holds-barred rock and roll crunch that never loses its rich combination of enhanced lows and crystal clear highs. Each Gibson SG Zoot Suit Electric Guitar comes with a deluxe gig bag that features the classic Gibson logo silkscreened on the front, and plush lining on the inside to protect the guitar.

Gibson SG Standard 4-String Bass Heritage Cherry Chrome Hardware

Gibson SG Standard 4-String Bass Heritage Cherry Chrome Hardware

The Gibson SG Reissue Bass brings back Gibson's classic dual-pickup SG bass from the '70s! The reissue bass has the 30-1/2" short scale of the original, as well as its slim, fast neck. Mahogany body and neck. The Gibson SG Reissue Bass features a vintage-style TB neck humbucker pickup and a mini-humbucker at the bridge for wide tonal range. Gibson includes a hardshell case with the reissue SG Standard Bass.3-Way Adjustable Bridge Gibson's innovative 3-way adjustable bridge is the standard for simplicity and functionality. It provides you with the ability to adjust and fine-tune the height of the SG Standard Bass' strings in all directions—front, back, and side-to-side. This gives the bridge a floating feature, thus allowing the bass to be equipped with a variety of string gauges and multiple set-up options. The SG Reissue bass's legendary resonance, tone, and sustain is the result of anchoring the bridge directly into the body at its 3 adjustable points, providing a firm seating for the strings and yielding a strong union between the strings and the body. Readily accessible screws make setting the intonation simple. To this day, Gibson's 3-way adjustable bridge remains an industry standard. It is the epitome of form and function in bass guitar bridge design.Set-Neck Construction Like all classic Gibson guitars, the necks on the SG Standard Basses are distinguished by one of the more traditional features that have always set them apart—a glued neck joint. Gluing the neck to the body of the guitar insures a "wood-to-wood" contact, no air space in the neck cavity, and maximum contact between the neck and body, allowing the neck and body to function as a single unit. The result? Better tone, better sustain, and no loose or misaligned necks.Vintage-Style TB and TB Mini Humbuckers The pickups on the early Gibson basses of the 1960s remained unchanged for many years, undergoing only minor cosmetic modifications from time to time, but staying true to the originals' sonic characteristics. The pickups in today's SG Standard Bass—the vintage-style TB Plus humbucker and TB mini humbucker—are wax-potted and capture and recreate the classic attributes of those early Gibson basses. The TB plus humbucker in the neck is a traditional hum-cancelling bass pickup with a full frequency, heavy-bottom sound, similar to pickups with a passive EQ. The EB mini humbucker in the bridge is traditionally smaller but packs a sweet punch with exceptional mid-range presence. This combination makes the SG Standard Bass a versatile instrument with a wide range of tonal possibilities.20-Fret Rosewood Fingerboard Rosewood has always graced the fingerboards of the world's finest stringed instruments, including many of today's Gibson guitars and basses. The fingerboard on the Gibson SG Standard Bass is constructed from the highest grade rosewood on the planet. The rosewood is personally inspected and qualif
